Fredmund (also known by his nickname "Freddy") is a character who appears in the seventh issue of the book series Anna & Elsa: Sisterhood is the Strongest Magic.

History[]

In the book The Secret AdmirerElsa has received a gift from an unknown source with each note signed "Your secret admirer". Anna and Olaf suspected it might be a suitor or a troubadour. When they couldn't find the person around the kingdom, Elsa decided to help and the group traveled to Petra's Stream and the mountains. After noticing a recent sculpture of Elsa similar to the one that was delivered to the castle, Kristoff said that Fredmund started his apprenticeship a week ago. The group traveled to the northern shore of the outer lake.

When they arrived, Fredmund ran out of his house with a wooden sword and a red cape playing pretend, not noticing the visitors. Elsa decided to give him a monster of his own using her magic, she made a dragon that was 10 feet tall. When Fredmund noticed, he was so terrified he ran off and nearly fell over but Elsa caught him in time. He was surprised to meet Elsa, Anna, and Olaf. When Elsa asked if he was her secret admirer, he was shy at first, but he admitted it.

Elsa asked what made him send those gifts and he thought Elsa was the neatest latest lady around. He then proposed to Elsa with a shiny pebble. Flattered at the gesture, Elsa asked why Fredmund wanted to marry her. He said it was what peopple did when they liked someone. He also said he was in the ice-carving contest and was nervous. He hoped Elsa would help him, though she told him they could remain friends for that. Fredmund had been practising for days, however still felt as though he was not good enough. Elsa suggested attempting something more simple, and Anna suggested a snowman. The next day at the contest, Elsa watched as Fredmund began his sculpture. He started to lose confidence again and wished he had Elsa's powers. Elsa told him she spent a lot of time controlling her powers, and that he has powers too; creativity and imagination.

When asked if he carved the pan flute, Fredmund said his father showed him how to make it last year. Elsa then suggested that he uses his wood carving skills on the block of ice. He used a wood whittling tool and regainsed his confidence. When the winners were announced, Fredmund did not place, but he received an honorable mention and was awarded a ribbon. He hugged Elsa and thanked her for the help and said he would remember this day. Elsa agreed, as iot was the day her secret admirer became her friend..
