The Nokk is a magical spirit that represents water.
It is one of the four elemental spirits that Elsa awakens.
The spirit becomes angered by the fighting.
The Nokk also frightens Olaf when he's in the Woods alone.
Elsa would go on to tame the Nokk and use it to cross the Dark Sea.
When Elsa was freed from her icy tomb in Ahtohallan, the Nokk took her to Arendelle to save it from destruction from a large wave.
At first the Nokk was very distrusting and aggressive. It hampered Elsa in her attempts to cross the North Sea, and even tried to drown her. Elsa was able to match the spirit, and eventually tame it, after which its temperament completely changed. From then on the water spirit was placid, and served Elsa in taking her where she needed to go.
- The Nokk appears in Scandinavian folklore. It tricks people, or can be tricked, and it is said that when a rider climbs onto its back they are unable to get off; when the spirit returns to the water they are therefore drowned.
- It took six months of development to complete the Nokk for Frozen II.
